hey all!

can’t believe it but august is almost done!  the summer seemed to fly by again and the fall is nearly upon us.  things are still going onward here in fatland.  one big show on the horizon.  september 14th we hit lincoln hall.  here are the details.  the always talented and continual dominant Sidewalk Chalk will be taking down the night.  BE SURE TO COME CHECK IT OUT!

this week i had some friends from colorado stay at my place.  pretty much awesome things going on.  they were in town for an epic string of dates.  Aakash Mittal and his quartet (jean-luc, josh, and matt) have been melting some faces and wowing crowds for a while now.  hailing from the denver/boulder area, they bring a concept of openness and stress free, relaxing music making that is a welcome contrast to the busy city streets of chicago.  check here for this video.

they collaborated with the very talented dancer Anjal Chande.  Check out some more info about the Soham Dance Space here.

not much time to speak so i will include some pics.  this coming week harjinder and reed will be attending California Brazil Camp.  this is very exciting!  i cannot sleep.  dane maxim richeson will be there!  YES!

tonight we are in for a treat.  3 tastee bands that will be sure to give you something to think about: whether it is a trumpet players long – gross hair, a keys player with eyes that could melt ice, or 14 people playing drums (not music) in a drumline…i mean samba group.  THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!!  BRING THE KIDS!!

Todd Clouser leads the group A Love Electric.  You may recognize someone from the long ago folded ensemble “adam and the mecklers.” Todd is awesome and with his band even MORE AWESOME!
